Collapse ▲The Chatham Food Hub is a collaborative project between Chatham County, UNC, and NC State University partners. The Chatham Food Hub is a nonprofit organization that partners with Chatham County farmers and restaurants to increase community access to local food through a single site accessible to people of all income levels. The Food Hub’s online ordering system is now accepting orders for the first pickup day on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Bray Park in Siler City.
Individuals can pre-order meals from restaurants and fresh produce from farmers. Orders will be accepted Monday through Friday of each week for pickup in Bray Park the following Wednesday. Customers can drive through the park to pick up their prepaid orders in a COVID-19-safe way. In addition to retail offerings, the Food Hub will offer free food as well. CORA will distribute pre-packaged boxes of groceries, and Hub staff are working with some local faith-based groups to prepare free meals for distribution through the Hub and/or sponsor Hub meals for families who are struggling.
Vendors participating in the Hub include:
- Bestfood Cafeteria
- Compadres Mexican Restaurants
- CORA
- Ever Reach Farms (will begin sales week of August 3, for pickup August 12)
- Green Panda Farms
- Rojo Canela
- The Root Cellar
