The Yancey County Cooperative Extension Office is now taking preorders for various plants and fruit trees to help you prepare for the 2024 planting season.
If you or someone you know would like to order plants this year, you can do so at the Yancey County Cooperative Extension Center during regular business hours (8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday). However, please check the website or anywhere local closings are posted during winter weather because our office follows the same schedule as Yancey County Government offices.
You’ll need to pay in full when you place your order. You can also drop off or mail your form to Yancey County Cooperative Extension Center at 30E US Hwy 19E Bypass, Burnsville, NC 28714, and you need to include your payment. All checks should be made payable to Yancey County Cooperative Extension.
All preorders must be in by the close of business on March 29th, 2024. Pickup for plants will be at the Yancey Extension office (30E US Hwy 19E Bypass, Burnsville, NC, 28714 – located next to Rio, Mexican Cuisine). Pickup dates will be announced soon, and they will be in April during regular office hours. All plant orders must be picked up during this time unless you have made arrangements with the office to do otherwise.
Refunds will not be issued for unclaimed orders, so be sure to mark your calendar once you receive notice of the pickup dates. Supplies on several items are limited, and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
We have new heirloom apple tree varieties on our list this year, so be sure to check them out! The order form will be updated periodically to reflect any items that have sold out. If you are ordering late be sure to check the latest form upload before turning it in.
2024 Pick-Up Dates: Wednesday, April 17th & Thursday, April 18th 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
