The Chatham County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension held a Farm Show and Tell at Edible Earthscapes in Moncure, NC on August 2, 2010. Farmers Jason and Haruka Oatis showed visitors their greenhouse production with in-ground crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, turmeric, ginger, coffee, and more. Jason and Haruka also grow vegetables, herbs and flowers, including many Asian varieties like molokeiya, shiso, gobo, Japanese cucumbers, Japanese pole beans, Japanese eggplants and Malabar spinach. A highlight of the tour was the one acre 'Koshi Hikari' rice field. Visit the Edible Earthscapes website for more information.
