Join us on Thursday, September 8 for the third webinar in our four-part ForestHer NC Conservation Webinar Series.
Conservation in Practice
September 8, 2022

1–2:30 p.m. EDT

In this webinar, we will explore conservation practices that create and maintain healthy soil, water, plants, and wildlife. Dr. Chris Moorman, with NC State University, will kick off the webinar with a brief overview of the relationship between wildlife and their environment, especially how plants create the underlying structure that wildlife needs to thrive.

Next, we’ll hear from three ForestHer landowners (Patricia Sowards, Michelle Riggsbee, and Joanne Rebbeck) who will share their adventures putting conservation into practice on their own land. We’ll hear first-hand lessons about:

  • Converting an old pasture to native prairie
  • Controlling invasive plants
  • Thinning pines
  • Prescribed burning
  • Creating pollinator habitat
