We have been seeing some beautiful and tasty locally grown strawberries at our Chatham County farmers’ markets! We have several growers who grow berries and bring them to add to their table at the farmers’ market.

Chatham County also has two pick-your-own (PYO) strawberry farms: Phillips Farms of Chatham and Chatham Oaks Farm.

Picking strawberries is a great activity on a beautiful spring day whether you are solo or enjoying a family outing. You get to enjoy the outdoors, support a local farm, and harvest some tasty fruit!

I have updated our on-line listing of Chatham County PYO farms. After the strawberry season is over we can always look forward to blueberries!

Note: Always contact the farm BEFORE you visit to confirm picking hours as conditions can change daily based on weather and berry availability. Usually the farm Facebook page has the most up-to-date info during picking season.
