Collapse ▲The North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Chatham County Center conducted an Industrial Hemp Workshop on February 28, 2019, at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center in Pittsboro.
The five-hour workshop attracted close to 300 participants from 44 counties and five states. The workshop featured 11 presenters and panelists plus 13 exhibitors. View the workshop agenda with a list of presenters and exhibitors.
Angelina’s Kitchen catered a delicious dinner with food sourced from six local farms.
A post-workshop on-line evaluation revealed the impacts of the workshop: 82% of participants rated the quality of the workshop as outstanding or excellent and 16% rated it as good; 97% said they had a better understanding of industrial hemp regulations, production, and disease management as a result of the workshop; and 95% of farmer participants said that what they learned in the workshop would help them be a better hemp farmer.
