This is a mature planting of basil towards the end of its harvest period. Later plantings in separate fields are also exhibiting symptoms. |

The yellowing caused by downy mildew is usually confined between the leaf veins. |

Yellowing on the upper leaf surface corresponds to fuzzy sporulation on the underside of the leaves. |

The sporulation can be dark gray to almost black in color. |
