On June 19, 2017 we planted our first industrial hemp research study at the Mountain Research Station in Waynesville, NC. The replicated study includes 15 varieties planted using the drill (shown above) or broadcast seeded by hand and rolled with a cultipacker. We also planted large swaths of each variety side-by-side for easy comparison.

On June 26, we noted the first little seedlings emerging from the drilled plots. Soon after, seedlings started to emerge in some of the broadcast seeded plots. You can view this study during the Mountain Research Station Field Day on July 18.
