Register Now for Cut Flower Workshop
The Chatham County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension will offer a Cut Flower Production workshop as part of its Enhancing Sustainability Series on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the Silk Hope Farm Heritage Center in Silk Hope, NC. Cut flowers are an important enterprise on many local diversified farms and can increase profits, improve cash flow, and even provide habitat for pollinators and other beneficial insects. Come learn from our nationally renowned cut flower experts at North Carolina State University!
The workshop will cover the latest new cut flower species and cultivars, high tunnel production, cut flower fertilization, harvest and postharvest handling and more. Speakers include Dr. John Dole, Alicain Carlson, and Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad, all from the North Carolina State University Horticultural Sciences Department.
