There have been some recent changes in tax issues related to agriculture. Emails have been flying around with these updates. I pulled all of these links together below to have them in one spot because I know that not everyone has seen all of the emails.

I also want to announce that the Chatham County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension will be conducting a workshop on Tax Issues for Diversified Farms on September 22, 2014 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in Silk Hope, NC.

The workshop will be taught by North Carolina State University Farm Management Specialist Guido van der Hoeven. This workshop will offer something for everyone, from beginner to experienced farmers. We will address sales taxes, income taxes, and payroll taxes. Registered participants will be invited to submit questions in advance that Guido will try to address. Registration details for this workshop will be released in August.
